Precautions for fiber optic transceivers, what issues should be paid attention to when purchasing fiber optic transceivers?
1. Does the optical module itself support full duplex and half duplex?
Some chips currently on the market can only use a full-duplex environment and cannot support half-duplex. Severe collisions and packet loss.
2. Have you done a connection test with other fiber optic transceivers?
Currently, there are more and more fiber optic transceivers on the market. If the compatibility of different brands of transceivers has not been tested in advance, there will also be packet loss, long transmission time, fast and slow.
3. Is there a safety device to prevent packet loss?
Some manufacturers adopt register data transmission mode in order to reduce cost when manufacturing fiber optic transceivers. The biggest disadvantage of this method is instability and packet loss during transmission. It is best to use a buffer circuit design to safely avoid packet loss.
4. Temperature adaptability?
Fiber optic transceivers themselves generate high heat when in use. When the temperature is too high (not greater than 50°C), whether the fiber optic transceiver works normally is a factor worth considering by customers!
5. Does it conform to the IEEE802.3u standard?
If the fiber optic transceiver conforms to the IEEE802.3 standard, the delay time is controlled at 46bit. If it exceeds 46bit, it means that the transmission distance of the fiber optic transceiver will be shortened!
