ADSS fiber optic cable connection steps and details that need to be paid attention to

2022-03-16 16:43:05

Optical fiber splicing is an important process with a large amount of engineering and high technical requirements in the optical fiber transmission system, and its quality directly affects the transmission quality and reliability of the optical fiber line. The connection of ADSS fiber optic cable is divided into the following steps.

ZR ADSS cable

(1) Use a cable stripping knife to strip two knife edges at the cable head position horizontally, pay attention to just exposing the aramid yarn, the distance between the two positions is about 1m, and then use a blade to strip between the two positions, which is usually called "opening the skylight". Cut off the aramid yarn, pass through the splice box, and fix the reserved central non-metallic reinforcement (FRP) on the fiber reel frame. Cut off the casing with a secondary coating knife, pull the casing off, wipe the ointment on the optical fiber with anhydrous alcohol, and wipe it several times until you hear a "sizzling" sound.

(2) Use the optical fiber slot of the splice box to pre-reel the optical fiber to be fused, with a length of at least two turns, so that the position of the optical fiber head is just in the groove of the hot-melt tube, cut off the excess optical fiber, and thread the hot-melt tube into different sleeves. Use a fiber knife to peel off the coloring layer at the end and wipe clean with alcohol.

(3) Turn on the power of the fusion splicer and select the appropriate fusion splicing method. Use a precision fiber cleaver to cut the fiber, and the cutting length is generally 16mm. Put the fiber in the V-shaped groove of the fusion splicer, carefully press the fiber clamp and the fiber clamp, set the position of the fiber in the clamp according to the fiber cutting length, and put it into the draft shield correctly. After pressing the splicing key, the fibers move toward each other, and a short discharge is generated during the movement to clean the surface of the fiber. When the gap between the fiber end faces is appropriate, the fusion splicer stops moving toward each other, and starts to perform core or cladding alignment. The gap between the electrodes of the fusion splicer is reduced, and the arc generated by the high-voltage discharge will fuse the left and right optical fibers. Finally, the loss is calculated by the microprocessor and the value is displayed on the display. If the displayed value exceeds 0.04dB, re-discharge is generally not used, and the fiber is re-stripped and then spliced again.

(4) Take the optical fiber out of the fusion splicer, put the hot-melt tube in the center of the bare fiber, and put it in the heater for heating. When the fusion splicer sends a signal of completion of fusion, take out the optical fiber from the heater. In order to save the splicing time, the next optical fiber can be spliced at this time. It is also possible to heat two hot melt tubes together, which will bring convenience to the coiled fiber. Due to the high temperature of the hot-melt tube just taken out of the heater, do not touch the ceramic part of the hot-melt tube and the heater with your hands. After the optical fiber is spliced, the fiber must be coiled.

Generally, the following points should be paid attention to when reeling ADSS fiber optic cable:

(1) The diameter of the fiber optic disc should be large enough, generally not less than 200px. Try to place it in the middle of the hot-melt tube slot and the disc. The optical fibers cannot cross each other and press each other. If they cross each other, gently poke them with a toothpick. When the number of cores is large, the split-disc fiber is generally used. Note that the sleeve cannot be folded at this time.

(2) The number of turns of the coil fiber should not be too much. The higher the number of turns, the higher the chance of the fibers squeezing each other, resulting in more additional attenuation.

(3) After the optical fiber is coiled, lightly pad some cotton near the wall of the dish to prevent the optical fiber from hitting the wall or squeezing and causing additional attenuation. After the hot melt tube is inserted into the slot.

The power optical cable is different from the ordinary communication optical cable. It is recommended to ask professionals to operate it when connecting and coiling the fiber!
