Aerial fiber optic cables are manufactured for outdoor applications and are designed and optimized to be suspended in the air. The jacket of the aerial fiber optic cable is reinforced with high-quality materials to resist inclement weather and sunlight. Aerial fiber optic cables also include a 1/4" galvanized slash for stability in extended from roof to suspended applications. Some common aerial optical cable applications include: cable television, outdoor equipment and telecommunication applications. In addition, we also offer 9/125 singlemode and 50/125 OM1, OM2, OM3 and OM4 multimode versions of aerial cables.
Single Mode Aerial Optical Cable
Aerial fiber single mode 9/125 outdoor cable with messenger, polyethylene material is ideal for long distance overhead outdoor installations. This form of aerial cable is available in 2 to 48 core versions and is self-supporting by slashes, reducing installation time and cost by up to 50%; therefore, with our aerial cables, there is no need to install a separate distribution box. Polyethylene material has a wide operating temperature of -40°C to 85°C to withstand harsh weather conditions. Single-mode aerial fiber optic cables have low attenuation and are therefore suitable for long-distance applications.
Multimode OM4 Aerial Optical Cable with Distribution Box
The polyethylene material of the Multimode OM4 Outdoor Cable with Distribution Box is ideal for outdoor rooftop applications that require maximum bandwidth over shorter distances. This aerial cable is available in 2 to 48 cores and comes with a polyethylene outer cable jacket for excellent UV and weather resistance. In addition, overhead fiber optic cables have a figure-of-eight configuration for use with standard distribution box clamping and support hardware.
Don't forget to consider fiber optic connectors
We stock a wide variety of fiber optic connectors such as our field installable fiber optic connectors. These field installable connectors are pre-polished for field installation and are available in LC, SC and ST styles. Each connector also provides a protective cover and does not require epoxy, simplifying the entire installation process.
