No matter which laying method is adopted outside the office, the indoor multimode fiber optic cable line must eventually enter the terminal office or the relay station. The terminal office and the relay station are collectively referred to as the office station. After the optical cable line reaches the central station, it needs to be connected with the optical terminal. This connection is called the optical cable end.
Indoor multimode fiber optic cable
The meaning of the end of the optical cable means that after the outdoor optical cable enters the equipment room, the outer sheath of the optical cable is stripped to a certain length, so that the optical fiber sleeve and the strengthening core are exposed, and the following operations are performed:
1. Fasten the metal reinforcement core to the ground terminal on the ODF frame, so that the metal parts of the optical cable are well grounded and avoid lightning strikes;
2. Bind the optical fiber sleeves with plastic ties in the ODF rack neatly, and each sleeve corresponds to a fiber splice tray;
3. Strip the optical fiber sleeve to a certain length, splicing the optical fiber and the pigtail, and then arrange the pigtail and optical fiber neatly in the splice tray;
4. Fix the optical cable tag on the optical cable to mark the optical cable;
5. Fill in the open route corresponding to each fiber core in the data label on the ODF frame for maintenance and search.
The difference between indoor multimode fiber optic cable splicing and fiber optic cable termination
Optical cable splicing: generally refers to the connection between two optical cables, usually done in a splice box or junction box in the field, that is, two optical fibers are spliced together with a fusion splicer.
Optical fiber cable end: generally refers to the optical fiber cable to the central office and then spliced with pigtails to connect with optical transceivers and other equipment.
For the monitoring of optical fiber fusion quality, there are currently three monitoring methods in engineering.
1. Use the display screen of the fusion splicer to monitor;
2. Use OTDR to monitor the connection point;
3. Use the light source and the optical power meter to cut or insert the splice loss, but because the cut or insert is a destructive test, it is not used in the project.
