The second is the distribution cable segment. In this section, the fault mainly occurs in the middle of the optical node and the optical switching box in the community. The equipment that is prone to failure includes optical splitter, distribution cable and ONU equipment.


The third is the home optical cable segment. Operational failures are also prone to occur in the optical nodes and user terminals of the cell. These parts mainly include EOC head-end/terminal equipment, home cables, distributors, etc. The staff need to focus on these parts that are prone to failures. The ONU terminal cannot dial

Fault characteristics: During the user's use, although the ONU connection is normal, the dial-up Internet access function cannot be realized. From the point of view of the reasons, it may be caused by the following aspects:


First, the user name and password do not match, resulting in abnormal dialing;


Second, there is an error in the background support system, which cannot realize the authorization of the user. It is also possible that the user goes offline abnormally during the use process, and the redial is faulty;


The third is that the ONU itself fails, and the signal cannot be mediated normally.


These reasons will cause the ONU terminal to be unable to dial. When such a fault occurs, the staff should find the reasons from the above three aspects and restore normal dialing in time.


Abnormal optical power at the user end

Fault characteristics: The LOS light of the ONU optical port indicator on the user end is flashing, and the optical power of the SC connector at the end of the leather fiber is tested, and the result is -35dB. After checking the optical splitter again, it was found that the signal was not abnormal. After detailed investigation, it was found that the output end of the optical splitter was abnormal, resulting in a small output optical power. When this happens, switch the interface of the splitter to realize the normal operation of the ONU.


Mosaic of on-demand signal

Fault characteristics: When the user is using the broadband signal, there is no abnormality. When selecting a program, the screen appears mosaic. This situation is mainly checked from the following aspects:


One is that the on-demand programs appear mosaic, which is not the case for time-shifted programs. The reason for this situation may be due to the congestion of the bandwidth between the NAS storage servers, resulting in a peak on-demand.


The second is that a certain program has mosaics, but other programs do not. This may be caused by a problem with the film source during recording, or the streaming server exceeds the bandwidth range.


Third, mosaics appear in both on-demand and time-shifting. This phenomenon is mainly caused by IPQAM, which may be caused by the fact that the upstream switch of IPQAM exceeds the actual bandwidth, resulting in mosaics in the program.

Judging from the actual situation, the frequency of failures in the home optical cable segment is relatively high. When the staff receives a repair call, they must first check the network management and the operation of the light spot in the repair area. If it is found that the light spot is not running smoothly, the method of distributing the optical cable section is adopted to analyze and troubleshoot the corresponding fault source. If there are other faults, the maintenance personnel should go to the user's site to check, so as to ensure the normal use of the user.
