How to install an outdoor wireless bridge to make the signal stronger

Since all bridge devices are powered by POE, it is extremely important to correctly connect POE power supply boxes, wireless bridges, IP cameras and other devices; the bridge devices are designed to be outdoor rain-proof and dust-proof, and the cable joints should be properly waterproofed Dust-proof treatment.

Seven Notes for Wireless Bridge Installation

1. Do a good job of rainproof, dustproof and insulation treatment. The connection part of the network cable of the network bridge, POE and network camera needs to be rainproof and dustproof. The joint part of the network cable and the network bridge generally needs to be wrapped with two to three layers of waterproof tape, and try not to expose the crystal head; the connection part between the network cable and the network camera It is also necessary to wrap two to three layers of waterproof tape or insulating tape; all power connectors should be insulated as much as possible.


2. Installation and fixation of bridge equipment. When installing the bridge, the bracket must be fixed first. If the bracket is unstable, it will directly affect the stability of microwave signal transmission. When fixing the bridge to the bracket, fix the bridge firmly according to the fixing method shown in the figure below. During installation, since the surface of the bracket is relatively smooth, if you directly tighten the U-shaped clip with a nut, it may take a long time, and the outdoor rainwater will penetrate the bracket. The surface will rust and the contact between the clevis and the bracket will loosen.

When installing, it is necessary for us to put a layer of rubber ring on the bracket and make close contact between the U-shaped clip code.


3. Wire selection and its length control. Control the length of the network cable to ensure the best transmission effect. The effective transmission distance of twisted pair (network cable) with better material is 100m, CAT5e or CAT6. Because the bridge uses POE power supply, the network cable not only carries the data flow but also supplies power to the bridge, so the network cable that is too long or the material is poor should not be used. The connection between the bridge and the POE should use CAT5e or CAT6 cable as much as possible, and the length should be controlled within 25m as much as possible.


Notice:

Usually CAT5e or CAT6 cable is used to transmit 100m data flow, which means that the distance from the LAN port of the POE power supply box to the camera or switch is 100m; but due to different on-site environments, the POE power supply box may be installed at a distance from the monitoring center or computer room. In the CCTV electric box, at this time, try to use optical fiber transmission from the POE power supply box to the monitoring center or equipment room.


The part of the network cable connecting the bridge and POE should not be too long. It is recommended to use CAT5e or CAT6 cable, and the length should not exceed 25m to avoid insufficient power supply; the part of the network cable connecting POE and network cameras, switches, NVRs and other equipment should not exceed 100m as much as possible to avoid causing network signals. attenuation.


When the POE data transmission port is far away from the monitoring center or equipment room (more than 100m), it is recommended to use optical fiber transmission.


There are two main types of POEs currently recommended, one is a modular POE with an external DC power input, and the other is a regulated POE with an internal integrated transformer using an AC 220V voltage input.

No matter which POE is used, its interface definition is unified. The network port marked "DATA IN" on the POE can be connected to network devices such as IP cameras, switches, computers, etc., and the network port marked "P + DATA OUT" must be connected. For bridge equipment, care should be taken when connecting to avoid burning the equipment by mistake.


4. Correct connection of network equipment such as network bridge, POE power supply box, network camera or switch. There are generally three ports on the POE power supply box: power port (usually DC input), POE network port (RJ45 port only for connecting bridge devices), network port or LAN port (can connect any Ethernet port based Network equipment, such as: IP cameras, switches, routers, computers, NVRs, etc.).


5. Network cable production standard and its type selection. The current network cable production standards are generally produced in accordance with the definition of the national standard. It is recommended to use the mainstream T568B line sequence standard to make network cables. The standards are as follows:


T568B: white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, brown


The bridge device is powered by POE. It is recommended to use the line sequence of the national standard T568B to make the network cable. Since all network devices are adaptive Ethernet ports, it is strongly recommended to use the national standard T568B when connecting the bridge device to the POE or the switch to connect the POE. The straight-through cable (that is, both ends of the network cable are in the line sequence of the national standard T568B).


6. Lightning protection treatment. The bridge equipment is generally installed in the open space outdoors, and lightning protection measures need to be taken; the equipment itself has a built-in lightning protection circuit, and a lightning protection grounding terminal (GND) is reserved outside the equipment. The correct lightning protection grounding method is: the poles that fix the bridge are generally installed with lightning rods, and the grounding terminal of the bridge needs to use a copper core wire (usually 4mm²) and the lightning protection wire to connect to the ground.


7.Feeder connector processing. For outdoor high-power bridge equipment, an external antenna needs to be installed due to the long transmission distance, and a feeder connection is required between the antenna and the equipment. At this time, all the joints between the feeder connection equipment and the antenna should be protected from rain and dust, and two to three layers of waterproof tape or insulating tape should be wrapped. Try not to expose the feeder joints to the air.
