The HDC-4000 can give you the same performance for less. It'll still be more expensive, but you'll benefit from the lowest production costs and less inspection and rework. Our fiber polishing machines show higher mechanical precision in stationary, polishing motion, perpendicular to orbital motion. Fiber polishers have a larger diameter stabilization ring (much larger than a 5" clamp diameter) under the rotating platen, which means you're polishing within mechanical tolerances. All other polishers have a smaller diameter of 3-4 inches.
Also, our fiber polisher fixtures don't move sideways like many other circular polishers, and you can polish 1 or 2 MT ferrules with the same performance as a full fixture. In production, you will encounter situations where the fixture is partially loaded.
The polishing process (CMP, chemical mechanical edging) requires control of pressure and polishing speed during each polishing step to ensure correct uniformity and fiber height across all fibers. Remember, we are managing minutes. 12 excellent fibers, maximum 1000-3000 nm 200nm variation.
From a business perspective, when MTP fiber patch cables are available in the market, you will notice that some customers require different fiber reach. Optical fiber polishers with large geometric changes will fail.
