Standard LC fiber patch cords are formed from a pair of fibers, each in a jacket, terminated by a pair of LC connectors. They are typically multimode OM fibers that can take the burden of dense port connections from a data center environment. Using a standard LC patch cord results in a 2x increase in the number of fibers per fiber port.
