What is tight-pack fiber?

What is tight-pack fiber? Can manufacturers produce such tight-packed optical fibers?

A single-mode or multi-mode fiber with a tight-buffered secondary coating structure is called a tight-buffered optical fiber or a tight-packed optical fiber. It can be understood that the secondary cladding is directly outside the bare fiber and the core, and then the outer diameter of the entire fiber is usually 0.6mm and 0.9mm.

0.9mm tight-pack fiber

At present, ZR optical fiber jumper manufacturers support the customization and production of this tight-packed optical fiber, especially the 0.9mm tight-packed optical fiber has been purchased and used by dozens of customers. This optical fiber is used as a pigtail and is used in active and passive. The connection between the optical components and the optical connection of the terminal equipment is very convenient to use. Can meet the various requirements of the market and users!

What are the transmission wavelengths of optical fiber jumpers?

ZR fiber jumper manufacturers have two types of single-mode fiber and multi-mode fiber, which use long-wave 1310nm, 1550nm and short-wave 850nm respectively. The transmission of fiber jumpers relies on the movement of optical signals through the above wavelengths inside the fiber core.

However, no matter what kind of signal transmission, there will be a certain attenuation loss, and the attenuation loss of the fiber jumper generally decreases with the wavelength, which is proportional to the transmission distance.

Therefore, under normal circumstances, the 850nm wavelength used by multi-mode fiber jumpers is only suitable for short-distance signal transmission, and its attenuation value is 2.5dB/KM; for long-distance transmission, single-mode fiber jumpers are selected for long-wave transmission. Its attenuation value is (0.2-0.35) dB/KM.

Of course, the values of these transmission wavelengths are not fixed, and these values are the wavelengths with the best transmission attenuation obtained by scientists in long-term theoretical experiments. If you use Winwin's fiber patch cables to transmit signals without using these wavelengths, you can still succeed, but the attenuation value will be larger.

Of course, some theoretical knowledge about optical fiber transmission is actually very deep. If you have some other ideas, you can consider contacting us!
