Fiber Patch Cord Transmission
SC-type fiber jumper: a connector for connecting to a GBIC optical module, its shell is rectangular, and the fastening method is a plug-in latch type, which does not need to be rotated. The optical interface on the side of the transmission equipment generally uses the SC connector. (It is most used on routers and switches, and telecom optical modems basically use the SC interface for cold connection.)
ST-type optical fiber jumper: commonly used in optical fiber distribution frame, the outer shell is round, and the fastening method is turnbuckle. Commonly used in fiber optic distribution frames.
ST and SC connectors are often used in general networks. After the ST head is inserted, it is fixed by a bayonet in a half-circle rotation.
LC-type fiber jumper interface: The connector is similar in shape to the SC connector, but smaller than the SC connector. A connector for connecting SFP modules, constructed with an easy-to-use modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism. Used a lot on routers.
FC type fiber jumper: The external strengthening method is a metal sleeve, and the fastening method is a turnbuckle. Generally, it is most used on the ODF side and on the distribution frame.
The FC connector is generally used in telecommunication networks. There is a nut screwed onto the adapter. The advantage is that it is reliable and dust-proof. The disadvantage is that the installation time is slightly longer.
